I

As of this moment, everyone in the class is doing their their logo design exercise while I’m, well, blogging my thoughts. The Writer is that cool.

But seriously, I have a reason to be like this for I’m just sitting in class. Good thing that the class professor allowed me to because in my class schedule for today, I have a College Algebra lab class at 9:40 to 11: 10 AM, then I have to wait until 6 PM for my next class, which is Technical Drawing. 7 f’n hours, imagine that!

And it’s also a good thing that the class professor is my former on my Computer Graphics class. He happened to be my favorite of all the professors I have encountered in school yet. He’s considerate when it comes to submission of works, and he doesn’t give those nose-bleeding technical terms during lectures. If he would give some, he’ll explain it broadly. Anyway, he’s a really cool mentor, really.

II

Going back to my long break. Imagine: that’s 7 f’n hours.

I can go home right after Algebra class and rest then go back to school again for the next class, but that’s wasting my money and energy. So, I listed some things I might do during that long break:

  • Hang out at the school cafeteria and pig out (Con: But that’s wasting money. I mean, I love food thought that contrasts my twig/zombie hybrid appearance, but I don’t want my wallet to get hurt A LOT.),
  • The usual over Starbucks (Con: But then again, that’s wasting money though I love their coffee.),
  • Rest my butt off or Web surf at Mineski Grounds (Con: What the fuck, I’ll go out of the building walk a number of steps just to sleep on the couch like a sloth? And wasting money again?)
  • Plurk at the free-slot computer labs (Con: What if I get sleepy and rest, then I found out that I’m drooling over the desk or worse, the keyboard?),
  • Go to the library and borrow a book or two (Con: But most of the time, it’s full during lunch time. I mean, lots of people are hanging around. Either they’re studying, they’re working on their homework, they wanted to experience the coolness of the air-con unit, they don’t have a place to stay on, or they wanted to sleep.), or
  • Sit in during one of my classmates’ class (Con: Except for my former professors who have been very nice to me, chances are that the professor won’t allow allowed me to sit in.).

Those were the things I thought I might do to kill the boredom during that not-so-good-somehow long break. I need to especially that it’s just the start of my 3rd term as a 2nd year art student. And I also hope I can discover more methods.

III

Seriously, it would be a great help for the likes of me if there will be this study area wherein we can relax or study during long breaks, not just the cafeteria and the library. During daytime, they’re full.

Or maybe I’m the only guy around with that kind of break. I ask myself sometimes, “Writer, why are you so dumb when you make schedules every pre-final period?”

Another bad thing is, the open library is not located at the main building. That’s a number of steps away from the campus I’m studying at. I’m that lazy sometimes. Yeah, there will be a library in our campus soon, but I’m sure that when that time comes, it will be full during my break.

IV

I’ll end this post for now; I’ll save my thoughts about my Algebra class in a later post. And by the way, I’m using my professor’s Mac unit as of this moment. Thank you sir for letting me to. You really rock my socks off!

I miss ranting those things when I am in school.
How boring is my school life. College starts next week.
I envy your Computer Graphics prof.

I have more than 5 hours of break every Monday.. luckily my friends have classes before the 6-9 that we’ll take together. But still, screw algeb!!! (sabay ganon eh) it’s the subject that’s making my life miserable, but i have to get it finished sooner or later and i picked now. :S

Read a book during your break! But then again it’s more fun to read a book if you’re in a bed.. hmm, I’d love that. I can’t read properly when I’m sitting down, hahaha.

Paurong, college is thrilling bro, you just have to explore further. :)

XG, all other class schedules are closed already. Too late for changing it.

Anna, I hate Algebra, but I have to take it now so I’ll worry just Business Math on the later terms. That is, if I’ll take it right after Algeb. And yeah, I might read books during break time for now on.

    bisita ka sa UP! :))

Oh well, goodluck with that. Bring infinite gaming consoles… although you told me you have none. :( Tough luck. Bring the Acer. :)) Good luck with that.

What? Seven hours of break?! And that’s going to be once every week for the rest of your term? That sucks. Well, at least, you’ll have plenty of time to finalize your requirement or review for a test for your next class.

IF only you can change your sched to at least lessen your waiting time. I mean 7 hours? That’s so ridiculous. Very inconvenient for me.

Joined any orgs? Normally I would stay in our org’s office till the next class starts.

  • 8 The Writer // Jan 11, 2009 at 9:55 pm

Cars, I am not allowed to bring the Acer when it’s not really needed. Sadly. :’( That Father of mine…

Christian, that’s the benefit of having a long break, yes. That is IF I have lots of work to do.

Neil, it is somehow convenient for me to have a long break, no matter how negative my post about it sounds. I mean, I can work on other important stuff while waiting.

And the org I joined 2 years ago is not that active. So I left. I like joining the school paper staff, but lots of work over there. And there are other reasons why I don’t want to join, which I will reveal later.

Ugh. I so hate long breaks, and it’s kinda tiring if you doing the same thing over and over again for passing the time. :(

  • 10 andi // Jan 14, 2009 at 5:56 pm

WHOA, 7 hours?! that’s too long. as in UBER haba ng break mo. Ganito yan eh: in 3 hours, happy ka pang ang haba ng break mo; in 5 hours, bored na pero may mahahanap ka pading gawin; in 6 hours, *tiiiiiiiiick toooooooooock* in slow motion cause you’re probably just watching the second hand of a clock/watch move; and in 7 hours…well, yeah, MAHABA TALAGA.

good luck with that though!!:D whole term mo din yan, make the most of it nalang :)

  • 11 The Writer // Jan 14, 2009 at 10:01 pm

Alrenz, that depends if I have friends to hang out with. But for now, parang malabo. And chances are that ma-bore rin yung mga kasama ko, if ever I’ll be having one.

Andi, good luck talaga sakin. Haha. I mean, long breaks have their flaws and advantages. I really have to make the most out of it. Thanks for dropping by! :)
